Allison Weightman is based in East Lothian after leaving her remote home in the NW Highlands, 10 years ago. 

The move was mostly driven by her wish to share her self-learning of Ceramics with others, and she now teaches at the Edinburgh Ceramics Workshops in the Abbeymount Studios, Edinburgh and from her studio at home. 

The move also initiated her drive to explore higher temperatures (previously focusing on Raku and smoke firing) in her gas kiln and multiple firings to obtain the rich glazes that adorn her hand-built ceramics. She also experiments with found clay and organic materials. 

Her work is found in public and private collections across the globe and she continues to deliver Ceramic education across Scotland.
