Pauline Beautyman creates hand crafted ceramics reflecting the textures, patterns and colours absorbed from her rural surroundings of Argyll, Scotland. The forms are explorations themselves of natural textures found in rock and earth, shapes of natural formations and mark making patterns. She often uses ash glazes, river silt or sand to bring an extra connection between the pots and the land.

For a long time, Pauline was a production potter making functional pots on the wheel but after an injury a few years ago forced her to stop, she now enjoys the slower and more thoughtful process of hand-building techniques. Pauline works from her studio by the Holy Loch in Argyll which is open to visit if you are in the area.
