Sue Whatmore was born in Edinburgh and spent her childhood in Nigeria and Hong Kong. After completing a foundation course in Art and Design at Camberwell  College of Arts in London, she received a BA(Hons) from Glasgow School of Art. Her inspiration comes from the East Lothian countryside where she lives, and the hidden meanings in natural and manufactured objects. Sue works mostly in acrylics, and enjoys the discipline of still life with its relationships of composition, light, symbolism and colour.
