THE OLD SCHOOL, TRAQUAIR
Sweet summer air moves around that old school
The evening sky purple as if reflecting the beauty of the heather further up the glen
That old school house is a dream, perched perfectly on a small mound
At the heart of the village once taking in the local children
Then emptied and at a loss
Now sold and bought, children laughing in and around it again
A young couple reconfigured it
Employment to the local trades men
Chimneys rebuilt
Clothes dry on the line
It stands replete
A dream made real
